An event was held at the UAE pavilion during the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh, within the framework of the "Youth Role in Sustainable Development Awareness" initiative launched by Masdar Energy City in Abu Dhabi on 26 October, in collaboration with Eng. Zeinab Bashier, a civil society leader in Egypt.عُقدت فعالية في الجناح الإماراتي على هامش مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتغيّر المناخي COP27 في شرم الشيخ، ضمن مبادرة «التوعية بدور الشباب في التنمية المستدامة» التي أطلقتها مدينة مصدر للطاقة في أبوظبي يوم ٢٦ أكتوبر، بالتعاون مع المهندسة زينب بشير، القيادية بالمجتمع المدني في مصر.
The meeting was attended by several leaders concerned with youth — headed by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports; the UAE Minister of Youth Shama Al Mazrouei; and Eng. Zeinab Bashier — alongside members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, writers, journalists and thought leaders.حضر اللقاء عدد من القيادات المعنية بالشباب، على رأسهم الدكتور أشرف صبحي وزير الشباب والرياضة المصري، ووزيرة الشباب الإماراتية شما المزروعي، والمهندسة زينب بشير، إلى جانب عدد من أعضاء مجلسي النواب والشيوخ والكتّاب والصحفيين وقادة الرأي.
Eng. Zeinab Bashier — Chairman of the "We Love Egypt" Foundation for Development and CEO of Z for Sustainable Development — explained that the initiative's objectives center on the role of youth in sustainable development, particularly in agriculture and the future of food, highlighting African youth in finding smart solutions to climate change and contributing to future skills and jobs for young people in Africa.وأوضحت المهندسة زينب بشير — رئيسة مؤسسة «بنحب مصر» للتنمية والرئيس التنفيذي لـ Z للتنمية المستدامة — أن أهداف المبادرة تتمحور حول دور الشباب في التنمية المستدامة، خاصة في الزراعة ومستقبل الغذاء، مع تسليط الضوء على الشباب الأفريقي في إيجاد حلول ذكية لتغيّر المناخ والإسهام في مهارات ووظائف المستقبل لشباب أفريقيا.
She added that the initiative highlights accelerating cooperation to invest in sustainable development, and encourages African youth to take part in decision-making on environmental files.وأضافت أن المبادرة تُبرز تسريع التعاون للاستثمار في التنمية المستدامة، وتشجّع الشباب الأفريقي على المشاركة في صناعة القرار في الملفات البيئية.
