Youth Role in Sustainable Development: A Spotlight on African Solutions

An event was held in the UAE pavilion, within the framework of the “Youth Role in Sustainable Development Awareness” initiative, launched by Masdar Energy City in Abu Dhabi on 26 October, in collaboration with engineer Zainab Bashir, a civil society leader in Egypt, on the sidelines of the COP 27 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh.
The meeting was attended by several leaders concerned with youth, headed by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, UAE Minister of Youth and Sports Shama al-Mazrouei, Engineer Zainab Bashir, and few members of the House of Representatives as well as Senate, writers, journalists, and thought leaders.
In context, Engineer Zainab Bashir explained the Chairman of we love Egypt Foundation for Development and the Chief Executive Officer of Z for Sustainable Development.
The initiative’s objectives are centered on key points related to the role of youth in sustainable development in agriculture and the future of food, highlighting African youth in finding smart solutions to climate change and contributing to future skills and jobs for young people in Africa.
Zeinab added that the initiative highlights the acceleration of cooperation to invest in sustainable development conditions and encourages African youth in decision-making in environmental files, stressing that the initiative has been admired by many young Egyptian, Arab and African people, commending the role played by civil society in raising awareness on these important files.
She thanked all officials for their full support in the initiative’s spread, commending the steps to empower young people and raise awareness on the risks of climate change.
